Successful completion of the program prepares an individual to earn national certifications as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Associate (CCA) credentials and the ability to prove to employers that they have the skills critical for the position. The additional PCS training included in our Professional Medical Coding and Billing with Applied PCS program puts students a step ahead in the job market because most entry-level coding certificates do not include this ICD-10-PCS training. With this course, they'll be prepared to work in both physician practices and hospitals, making them more flexible as they consider job options, as well as advancement opportunities.
CareerStep provides online platform, student support, exam voucher and career counseling. Student support includes access to: Learner Advocate who will help you navigate the program, set goals, learn good study habits, access your resources, and succeed in your chosen field of study. You can also set up regular phone calls with them to help you stay on track. In addition to any appointments that you schedule with them, they will reach out to you periodically through email and text. Your Advocate will be there for you every step of the way. Technical Support Advisors who are knowledgeable, experienced, and available six days a week to help you work through any technical or computer issues encountered within the training program.
Career advisors work with students that successfully complete program. Career Advisors help you transition to the workforce after completion. Your Career Advisors will help prepare the best resume, develop solid interview skills, and teach you valuable job search techniques.

MAKING SENSE OF THE EMPLOYMENT OUTCOMES:

"Average quarterly wages" means the total wages earned in a three-month period by all students who completed the program ("completers"), divided by the total number of completers.

"Median quarterly wages" means all the completers' quarterly wages are placed in order from lowest to highest and then we identify the student's wages in the middle. This information is provided because averages can be greatly influenced by really high and low wage earners.

To estimate monthly wages, divide the quarterly wages by three.
